6. How many staff are in a group? Is there an adult presence?
Pre- K groups have 5 group counselors, Kindergarten and 1st grade groups have 3 group counselors and second grade and older generally have 2 group counselors. Group counselors travel with their campers everywhere throughout the day and are active participants and helpers at each activity.
We also have a Division Leader who supervises all the groups in a particular division. All Division Leaders are adults who will contact you before the summer begins and throughout the entire summer. The Division Leader is your liaison and you may contact them and expect a quick return phone call at all times during the camp season. We are happy that a majority of our Division Leaders and Leadership Team return each summer!
7. Who instructs each activity?
While Group Counselors accompany are campers to each activity, they are not responsible for teaching each activity. Group Counselors are active participants and remain with their campers the entire day.
Specialists, with a highly skilled background, teach each activity. Our specialists are often teachers, coaches or professionals in their particular field.
8. Do we offer swim instruction?
The Rolling Hills swim program is our "pride and joy". We have 3 heated pools that are used age appropriately to teach our campers according to the Red Cross Swim Levels. Each camper has small group instruction every day with the same swim instructor to ensure that the camper feels safe and secure. Campers also are scheduled for recreational swim everyday.
Pre- K and Kindergarten campers have their own pool which is age and skill appropriate. The Frog Slide is always a hit!!!
All campers are provided with a fresh towel every time they swim.
9. Do we offer lunch?
Rolling Hills provides lunch as part of our all inclusive tuition. We offer a hot meal, salad bar, bagels, deli meats, fresh fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. Lunch is served to the campers by their counselors family style. Campers get dessert at the end of each meal: ice cream, cookies, Watermelon, etc.
We also offer snack at the end of each camp day. Snack is brought to the group by a counselor and the group eats it together.

While we do play competitive games, Rolling Hills Day Camp promotes a non-competitive sporting environment where everyone is a winner. Our staff emphasizes active participation and learning skills in a fun and dynamic atmosphere. Campers are always given equal playing time in each game. We want all campers to arrive home everyday feeling good about their Rolling Hills' experience.
At the same time, campers in senior camp may choose (as an elective) to participate in our competitive sports league on a daily basis. We also bring in professional sports coaches and players to run various sports clinics throughout the summer which emphasize skill acquisition.
